3 traits of thought leaders that make them go-to people in their organizations

Developing thought leadership is key to growing your visibility with senior leaders in your organization.  The opinion of thought leaders is sought out by others because they're able to challenge ideas by asking thought-provoking questions and applying their sound judgement and critical thinking. Let's look at some of the traits that thought leaders cultivate.

1) Thought leaders are intellectually curious.  Their curiosity drives them to ask questions to better understand other's ideas.  Their curiosity paired with a growth mindset allows them to continuous learn - and learn with purpose.  Their curiosity is not idle.  It is purposeful.  It is focused.  Generally, they have a broad range of interests and are always learning new things.  They look around the world with interest and a desire to understand, not judge.  They take the time to thoroughly question and listen to the answers.  They don't assume they already know the answer and seek out opposing views.  

2) Thought leaders are analytical.  They are masters at processing information.  They apply critical thinking to filter data to find what is informative.  Their analytical nature leads to sound judgement.  Thought leadership is not about always being the most knowledgeable person in the room.  Instead, it is their way of looking at the world and how they filter information that allows them to contribute in any discussion.

3) Thought leaders are creative and innovative.  They  are always looking for ways to make things better and to solve problems for their clients and their organizations.  They're not satisfied with the status quo.  They keep up with emerging technologies and advancing capabilities.  

Thought leaders can be found at all levels in an organization but are quickly able to get the ear of leaders because of the value they provide.
